“Highlander”

Scotland in the 1740s was in turmoil as the Jacobites attempted to put a Catholic king back on the throne of England. The brave warriors that fought that in that noble cause lived and loved as one does when there is no guarantee which day is your last. It was very much like the men and women who served in WWII….although clothing was different, the passions of the individuals living through it all were burning brightly.

What if we were transported back to these times, to experience them for ourselves? Would we be drawn to people and places that seem familiar somehow? Would we share the tales and camaraderie as if it were déjà vu?
This October 21, 2023, we’ll gather at table to share a meal and raise a toast to heroes of the past. A pub in West Seattle will provide the atmosphere to take us back in time.
Wear attire from the 1740s through 1945, to evoke the Scottish times we will commemorate. Please do not wear hoop skirts or large bustles, since the space they take up will interfere with movement in the small restaurant area.
This is a no-host late lunch (you’ll pay for your own meal and beverages directly to the dining establishment). We’ll socialize, play games (bring a deck of cards or your favorite board game), and spend a cozy afternoon with friends.

- Your favorite board game or deck of cards! Between courses, or after the meal, you are free to engage in conversation and play games with friends or your table mates.
- If you choose to purchase alcohol, bring your cash or plastic.
Space is limited to a 60 person capacity, so registration is required.
Registration Cost: $5.00
No-host late lunch.
