Have you admired those perfect, white, Victorian blouses…. the ones with the beautiful lace inserted in the blouse body and sleeves? Would you like to know how to insert lace into your projects and make the garment you have been dreaming about? SITU-U will teach you!
Join SITU-U’s Insertion Lace Workshop. Professor Violet will lead us in making samples of various lace insertion shapes (straight lines, diamonds, circles, and hearts) so you gain the technique and experience to make these embellishments yourself.
All fabric, lace, patterns, and some equipment will be supplied as part of your kit. Participants will be expected to bring basic sewing equipment, and their zigzag-capable sewing machine. A supply list will be sent out to participants before the class, via email.
It is expected that participants will bring a sewing machine capable of doing a zigzag stitch, and know how to thread and run their machine. The skill level for this class is “advanced beginner” and above; you know how to sew straight and curved lines, and have made at least 2 small items. This is NOT a basic sewing class. If in doubt, you may speak to the instructor so she can help determine if this class is for you – we want you to succeed and enjoy the class!
We look forward to seeing you in our class!
This is going to be great fun! See you soon…
