“Churchill’s Club”

Late 1920’s to 1955 – those were impactful years for Great Britain, even in the lives of the well-heeled. Come, as members of the elite, let’s visit with our friend Winnie Churchill at “The Club.”
The World Depression or subsequent World War, were mere inconveniences for those who regularly toasted with champagne or enjoyed scotch “neat.”

Beneath the conviviality may lay a deeper meaning. As the welcoming chatter in the club invites us to sit down and enjoy time together, is there also another kind of talk going on? Are the rumors, even in the pubs, about Winston true?
We may look like the elite just sharing some spirits and a bit of gossip over a game table, but talk of Winston and England’s future is the undercurrent of the chatter.
This October 20 (in the year 2018), we’ll revisit the camaraderie enjoyed between Winston Churchill and his many elegant friends at “Churchill’s Club!” Located on the western slope of West Seattle, we’ll slip past the “regular diners” at the front of the posh Whiskey West restaurant (owned by a Brit from Northern England), into the cozy, more private space near the rear for our SITU Fall Event.
Wear attire from the late 1920’s through 1955, the years when our friend Winnie was influential in England. Included in the ticket pricing, a catered array of tasty delicacies will be available for you to enjoy (gluten-free considerations have been added), along with coffee, tea, or soda pop. Alcoholic beverages, will of course be available for you to purchase on site directly from the Club.
Please bring your jolly self, a sense of conviviality, and a board game or deck of cards to be able to play with tablemates. We will be enjoying and whiling away an autumn afternoon with friends, in the cool drizzle of London at Winston’s Club.

Location:
Churchill’s Club is located in a stylish but vintage area of West Seattle. SITU will be taking over the rear of the club for our private party. Full address and driving instructions will be mailed to registered participants.

Bring:
- Your favorite board game or deck of cards! Between courses, or after the meal, you are free to engage in conversation and play games with friends or your table mates.
- If you choose to purchase alcohol, bring your cash or plastic.
Space is limited to a 60 person capacity, so early registration is required.
